Our concrete blend is a pre-mixed combination of sand, 10mm aggregate (gravel) and blue metal dust used for making concrete. It does not contain cement, so cement must be added separately to create a concrete mix. It is commonly used for small to medium construction projects like footpaths, slabs, and post holes.
What is Concrete Blend Used For
Concrete blend is commonly used for:
- Concrete slabs (e.g., shed bases, pathways, driveways)
- Footings and foundations for structures
- Post holes (e.g., fence and signposts)
- General concreting work
How is Concrete Blend Used
Mixing Ratio
A standard mix is 1 part cement to 4 parts concrete blend.
Adjust the ratio depending on the strength required (e.g., higher cement content for stronger concrete).
Add Water
Gradually add water while mixing until you achieve a workable consistency (not too dry or too runny).
Mix Thoroughly
Use a shovel, cement mixer, or wheelbarrow to blend until uniform.
Pour and Finish
Pour into moulds, footings, or slabs and smooth the surface using a trowel.
Curing
Keep the concrete moist for several days to prevent cracking and ensure strength development.
Benefits of Using Concrete Blend
Convenience - Pre-mixed sand and aggregate save time and effort.
Consistent Quality - Ensures a reliable mix with even distribution of materials.
Versatility - Suitable for a wide range of applications, including foundations, pathways, driveways, and post holes.
Cost-Effective - Reduces material waste and speeds up the mixing process.
Customisable Strength - Adjust cement content to meet specific project requirements.
