A Pool Filter / Hot Water Tank Slab is a precast concrete slab, typically sized for outdoor utility equipment like pool pumps, filters, and hot water systems. It provides a stable, level base that protects both the equipment and the surrounding area.
Uses of A Pool Filter / Hot Water Tank Slab
Base for Pool Equipment
- Supports pool filters, pumps, chlorinators
Base for Hot Water Tanks
- Provides elevation and stability for outdoor water heaters
Air Conditioner Units
- Acts as a vibration-absorbing foundation
Storage Shed Foundation
- For small outdoor structures
Outdoor Pump Housing
- Stable base for irrigation or bore pumps
Bin Pads

How to Use a Pool Filter / Hot Water Tank Slab
Installation Steps
Site Selection
Choose a level area with good drainage near the equipment’s utility connections
Excavation (Optional for Stability)
Dig slightly below the slab thickness (e.g., 100mm) for a flush or secure base
Prepare the Sub-Base
Lay 50–100mm of compacted crusher dust or gravel for stability and drainage
Ensure it's level using a spirit level
Place the Slab
Position the slab directly on the compacted base
Use a level again to ensure a flat, even surface
Secure Equipment
Set your equipment (e.g., hot water tank or pool filter) on the slab
Use brackets or mounts if required by manufacturer
Benefits of a Pool Filter / Hot Water Tank Slab
