How to Use Windsor Stone Blocks

Installation Steps

Planning

Decide on the wall height, layout, and shape

Mark your layout using string or spray paint

Excavation

Dig a trench about 200mm deep and 150mm wider than the blocks

Ensure it’s flat and level

Base Preparation

Lay 100–150mm of compacted road base or crusher dust

Level and compact thoroughly

First Course

Lay the first row of blocks carefully – this sets the tone for the entire wall

Use a level and rubber mallet to position each block perfectly

Drainage

Backfill with 20mm gravel and install ag pipe behind the wall for water drainage

Building the Wall

Stack blocks in a staggered pattern

Use landscape adhesive between courses for extra strength

Continue backfilling as you build up

Finishing

Add Windsor Stone cap blocks for a neat, finished top edge

Fill garden beds with soil or mulch as needed
