How to Use Premium Lawn Top Dress

Mow the Lawn

Start by mowing the grass to a shorter height to ensure that the top dress reaches the soil surface. This will help the grass establish better contact with the soil.

Rake the Surface

Use a rake or lawn dethatcher to loosen the soil surface if necessary. This also helps remove thatch and improves soil penetration.

Spread the Top Dress

Use a spreader or shovel to evenly distribute the top dressing across the lawn. For even application, aim for a layer of about 2.5mm to 5mm thick, ensuring the grass is still visible after application.

Use a Rake

After spreading, use a rake to level the soil and work it into the grass. This ensures the dressing integrates well into the existing lawn.

Watering

After applying the top dress, water the lawn thoroughly to help the material settle into the soil and encourage better seed germination (if overseeding). Maintain regular watering to ensure the lawn is consistently hydrated, especially during the early stages of top dressing.

Ongoing Maintenance

Once applied, continue normal lawn care, including mowing, fertilizing, and watering. The top dress will improve soil health over time and provide better conditions for grass growth.
